Skin Tag Removal Pre and Post Care
Pre and Post Care Instructions
Pre Care
Avoid Excessive Sun Exposure
Avoid sunburn or irritated skin in the treatment area before your appointment.
Healthy skin heals more efficiently after treatment.
Inform Your Provider
Please inform your provider if you have a history of poor wound healing, skin infections, bleeding disorders, or if you are taking blood-thinning medications.
Arrive With Clean Skin
The treatment area should be clean and free of lotions, oils, makeup, or skincare products whenever possible.

Post Care
Keep The Area Dry For The First 24 Hours
Avoid getting the treated area wet for the first 24 hours after treatment.
This helps protect the area and allows the healing process to begin properly.
Keep The Area Clean
After the first 24 hours, gently cleanse the area as directed by your provider.
Avoid excessive rubbing, scrubbing, or irritation.
Expect A Small Scab
A small scab will typically form where the skin tag was removed.
This is a normal part of the healing process and usually lasts approximately 1–2 weeks.
Do Not Pick The Scab
Allow the scab to fall off naturally.
Picking may increase the risk of scarring, pigmentation changes, or delayed healing.
Avoid Swimming And Hot Tubs
Avoid pools, hot tubs, saunas, and prolonged water exposure until the area has fully healed.
These environments may increase the risk of irritation or infection.
Avoid Excessive Sun Exposure
Protect the treated area from direct sunlight while healing.
Use SPF when appropriate to help prevent discoloration.
Watch For Signs Of Infection
Mild redness is normal, but contact our office if you experience worsening redness, excessive swelling, drainage, fever, or increasing pain.
Resume Normal Activities
Most patients can return to normal activities immediately after treatment.
When To Contact Our Office ?
