HydraFacial® Pre and Post Care
Pre and Post Care Instructions
HydraFacial is a non-invasive skin rejuvenation treatment designed to deeply cleanse, exfoliate, extract impurities, hydrate the skin, and deliver nourishing serums. It is commonly used to improve skin texture, enlarged pores, congestion, dehydration, dull skin, fine lines, and overall skin health.
Following these instructions will help maximize your results and keep your skin looking its best.
Pre Care
Avoid Excessive Sun Exposure (1 Week Before)
Avoid sunburn, tanning beds, and excessive sun exposure for at least one week before your treatment.
Recently sunburned skin may be more sensitive and should not be treated.
Stop Retinol And Exfoliants (3–5 Days Before)
Discontinue retinol, tretinoin, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, exfoliating scrubs, and other active skincare products.
These products may increase skin sensitivity and irritation.
Avoid Waxing And Hair Removal (1 Week Before)
Do not wax, thread, dermaplane, or use depilatory creams in the treatment area.
This helps reduce irritation and sensitivity.
Avoid Chemical Peels And Laser Treatments (2 Weeks Before)
Avoid chemical peels, microneedling, laser procedures, IPL, RF treatments, and other aggressive skin treatments before your HydraFacial appointment.
Stay Hydrated
Drink plenty of water before your treatment.
Hydrated skin often responds better to treatment and serum absorption.
Inform Your Provider
Notify your provider if you have active cold sores, skin infections, open wounds, recent cosmetic procedures, pregnancy, or any skin condition that may affect treatment.
Arrive With Clean Skin
Whenever possible, arrive with a clean face free of makeup, sunscreen, and skincare products.

Post Care
Enjoy Your Results Immediately
Many patients notice brighter, cleaner, smoother, and more hydrated skin immediately after treatment.
Your skin may have a healthy glow that continues to improve over the next several days.
Avoid Touching Your Face
Try to avoid unnecessary touching of the skin immediately following treatment.
Freshly treated skin should remain clean and protected.
Avoid Makeup (At Least 24 Hours)
For best results, avoid makeup for the remainder of the day and ideally for 24 hours.
This allows the skin to fully benefit from the treatment serums.
Avoid Retinol And Active Products (48 Hours)
Do not use retinol, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, exfoliating scrubs, benzoyl peroxide, or other active ingredients for at least 48 hours after treatment.
Avoid Excessive Heat (24–48 Hours)
Avoid saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, hot yoga, and prolonged hot showers.
Excessive heat may increase redness and sensitivity.
Avoid Strenuous Exercise (24 Hours)
Heavy exercise may increase redness and irritation immediately following treatment.
Allow your skin time to recover.
Wear SPF Daily
Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher every day.
Protecting your skin from UV damage helps maintain your results and supports long-term skin health.
Stay Hydrated
Continue drinking plenty of water after your treatment.
Hydration supports healthy skin function and helps maintain your HydraFacial results.
Continue A Good Skincare Routine
Consistent skincare and sun protection help extend the benefits of your treatment.
Your provider may recommend professional skincare products to help maintain your results between visits.
Schedule Regular Treatments
Many patients achieve the best long-term results with regular HydraFacial treatments as part of their skincare routine.
Your provider can recommend a treatment schedule based on your skin type and goals.
