Daxxify
Botox® & Daxxify® Pre and Post Care Instructions
Botox and Daxxify are FDA-approved neuromodulators used to temporarily relax targeted muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles and facial lines. Following these instructions can help minimize bruising, improve comfort, and optimize your results.
Pre Care
Avoid Blood Thinners (5–7 Days Before)
Skip aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), naproxen (Aleve), and other NSAIDs if medically appropriate and approved by your physician. These medications can increase the risk of bruising.
Avoid supplements such as fish oil, vitamin E, garlic supplements, ginkgo biloba, and St. John’s Wort, as they may also contribute to bruising.
Limit Alcohol (24 Hours Before)
Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before your appointment.
Alcohol can dilate blood vessels and increase the likelihood of swelling and bruising after treatment.
Stay Hydrated
Drink plenty of water before your appointment.
Proper hydration supports overall skin health and may improve recovery.
Avoid Vaccinations (2 Weeks Before and After)
If possible, avoid receiving vaccinations within two weeks before or after your treatment.
This helps prevent confusion between treatment-related reactions and vaccine-related symptoms.
Avoid Skin Irritation (3–5 Days Before)
Avoid chemical peels, microneedling, laser treatments, excessive exfoliation, or any treatment that may irritate the skin prior to your appointment.
Healthy, non-irritated skin responds best to treatment.
Arrive With Clean Skin
If possible, arrive without makeup on the treatment area.
Clean skin reduces the risk of irritation and allows your provider to properly assess the treatment area.
Inform Your Provider
Let your provider know if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have a neurological condition, have had previous reactions to neurotoxins, or are taking any medications that affect muscle function.
Schedule Around Important Events
Results are not immediate.
Botox and Daxxify generally require 7–14 days for full results, so plan your treatment at least two weeks before weddings, vacations, photoshoots, or special events.

Post Care
Stay Upright For 4 Hours
Do not lie down, recline, or bend excessively for at least four hours after treatment.
Remaining upright helps ensure the product stays in the intended treatment area.
Do Not Rub Or Massage The Area
Avoid touching, rubbing, massaging, or applying pressure to treated areas for at least 24 hours.
This includes facials, facial massages, gua sha treatments, and facial devices.
Avoid Strenuous Exercise (24 Hours)
Skip intense workouts, running, weightlifting, and vigorous exercise for 24 hours.
Increased blood flow may increase swelling and bruising.
Avoid Alcohol (24 Hours)
Continue avoiding alcohol for the remainder of the day after treatment.
Alcohol may worsen bruising and swelling.
Avoid Excessive Heat (24 Hours)
Stay away from saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, hot yoga, and prolonged sun exposure.
Heat can increase redness, swelling, and irritation.
Be Gentle With Skincare
You may gently wash your face later the same day.
Avoid aggressive cleansing, exfoliation, or excessive pressure on the treatment area.
Avoid Facial Treatments (7–14 Days)
Avoid facials, chemical peels, microneedling, laser treatments, or any procedure that places pressure on the treated muscles.
Wait until your Botox or Daxxify has fully settled.
Stay Hydrated
Continue drinking plenty of water following treatment.
Hydration supports overall skin health and recovery.
Be Patient With Results
Initial results may begin appearing within a few days.
Full results typically develop between 10 and 14 days after treatment.
Schedule Follow-Up If Needed
If this is your first treatment or if adjustments are needed, a follow-up appointment may be recommended approximately two weeks after treatment.
