Hydroquinone 6% Bleaching Pads

Pre and Post Care Instructions

Our Hydroquinone 6% Bleaching Pads are professionally compounded in-office and designed to help improve melasma, sun damage, age spots, acne discoloration, and uneven skin tone. Each container contains 60 pads, providing approximately 60 days of treatment when used as directed.

Following these instructions will help maximize your results while minimizing irritation and complications.

Pre Care

Avoid Irritated Or Damaged Skin

Do not begin treatment if you have open wounds, cuts, active infections, severe sunburn, or significant skin irritation in the treatment area.

The skin should be healthy before starting treatment.

Perform A Patch Test If Recommended

If you have never used Hydroquinone or have sensitive skin, your provider may recommend testing a small area first.

This helps identify potential irritation before applying the product to larger areas.

Avoid Excessive Sun Exposure

Sun exposure can worsen pigmentation and reduce the effectiveness of treatment.

Begin practicing daily sun protection before starting your Hydroquinone program.

Purchase A Quality Sunscreen

A broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher is required while using Hydroquinone.

Sun protection is one of the most important parts of a successful pigmentation treatment program.

Inform Your Provider

Notify your provider if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have a history of severe allergic reactions, eczema, psoriasis, or other skin conditions that may affect treatment.

Understand The Treatment Timeline

Pigmentation often develops over months or years and requires time to improve.

Results are gradual and depend on consistency, sun protection, and the severity of pigmentation.

Post Care

Apply One Pad Every Night

After cleansing your skin in the evening, gently apply one pad to the treatment area.

Allow the product to dry before applying additional skincare products unless otherwise directed.

Use SPF Every Day

Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher every morning.

Even brief sun exposure can stimulate melanin production and interfere with your results.

Avoid Excessive Sun Exposure

Wear hats, sunglasses, and protective clothing whenever possible.

Sun protection helps prevent new pigmentation from developing.

Expect Gradual Improvement

Most patients begin noticing improvement within several weeks.

Dark spots typically fade gradually as excess pigmentation decreases over time.

Avoid Harsh Products

Avoid aggressive exfoliants, scrubs, and irritating skincare products unless approved by your provider.

Over-irritation may increase inflammation and worsen pigmentation.

Stay Consistent

For best results, use one pad nightly as directed.

Each container contains 60 pads and is designed to provide approximately 60 days of treatment.

Mild Irritation Management

Some patients may experience mild redness, dryness, itching, or irritation when beginning treatment.

If mild irritation occurs, stop using the product for three days and allow the skin to recover.

After three days, you may restart treatment.

If Irritation Returns

If the same symptoms return after restarting the product, discontinue use permanently and contact our office for further evaluation.

Your skin may not tolerate Hydroquinone treatment.

Severe Allergic Reactions

Although uncommon, serious allergic reactions can occur with any skincare product.

If you experience facial swelling, swelling of the lips or tongue, difficulty breathing, severe rash, or signs of a serious allergic reaction, stop using the product immediately and seek emergency medical attention.

Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room if breathing becomes difficult.

Stay Hydrated

Drink plenty of water and maintain a healthy skincare routine to support overall skin health.
